About US

about business in Africa club

Our vision is to become the regional informational and networking hub for all things Africa as related to understanding the economic and business climate of the region.

Our mission is to educate our student body and the wider community about the business opportunity that exist in Africa. We are looking to inspire people to get involved in Africa and to claim their place in an increasingly important economic region. We accomplish this by providing our members and community with the tools to take action.

The Business in Africa Club was founded in 2011 by a team of students at Fuqua interested in African business developments. As part of a premier institution and the #3 ranked business school in the nation, the Duke MBA (Fuqua) Business in Africa club is made up of a diverse and talented group of students who have domestic and international pre-MBA work experience. BIA has been a model for diversity at Fuqua. Despite our name, we boast of a 200+ person strong mailing list comprising a significant section of the student body interested in conducting business in emerging markets, and those who recognize that emerging markets represent untapped business frontier.
